ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I am obsessed with food.

Cooking food, eating food, shopping for food, finding a restaurant to eat the food, looking at pictures of food, how does food affect the mind and body, basically, all food - all the time. I once quit my job as a hairstylist to go to culinary school to become a pastry chef (someday I'll tell you all about that journey). I loved being in the kitchen making things, it was crazy hard work too. Not long after I starting cooking professionally, I came to realize that I had some major food/health issues.

I was an IBS sufferer for a very long time without knowing it before I was finally diagnosed with IBS and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. I tried diet after diet thinking eventually one would change my life, but nothing ever did. Like a lot of mothers out there, pregnancy and motherhood changed a lot of things about they way my body reacted to food. It was just so hard to live without when everyone else was able to live with, you know?

Then, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at age 14. A huge blow to a kid whose entire diet was made up of bread and pasta. Even though I was fairly well versed in Low Fodmap cooking and gluten free food, there was a lot I didn't know about Celiac Disease specifically.

Determined to help my daughter stay positive and find the resources she needed to live with CD, I came up with the idea for Happy Lucky Gluten Free. This site is a collection of recipes, ideas, hacks, products and ramblings that I have found to make us feel happy and lucky to be gluten free. I hope this helps you too!

Enjoy,

xo
